Lysterfield Quarry

Lysterfield silo

Located 35 km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, Lysterfield Quarry has been supplying high-quality hard rock materials since 1979. Covering more than 76 hectares, the site plays a vital role in supporting Victoria’s infrastructure projects with locally produced construction materials.

The Lysterfield Sales Yard operates Monday to Saturday, distributing aggregates and recycled products to both commercial and residential customers. From concrete and road base to landscaping materials, we provide reliable supply supported by digital ordering solutions, efficient service and expert customer support.

Our quarry produces a range of graded aggregates with the most popular being a 14 mm product (ranging from 14 mm to 5 mm) widely used in readymix concrete. Other sizes, including 7 mm, 10 mm and 14 mm, are essential for asphalt production.

Community engagement

Wollert Open day
Quarry Safari Open Day – Sunday 16 November 2025

We hosted the Lysterfield Quarry Safari Open Day, a free family-friendly event that our local community enjoyed, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at how we produce essential building materials for Melbourne.

Visitors enjoyed 20-minute guided bus tours led by our Quarry Rangers, where they saw quarry operations up close, along with activities for all ages including face painting, vehicle displays and giveaways.

Community and environmental commitment

As part of Heidelberg Materials Australia (rebranded from Hanson in 2024), Lysterfield Quarry operates under strict environmental and regulatory standards and actively engages with the community through our Community Reference Group.
